I've seen the production of Yosegi the very first time, I even didn't know that it exits. I'm very, very impressed from the detail craftsmanship and the precision. Thank you for showing it to us.
When he sprayed down that box with the hose I thought one of us had gone insane. Then he decided woodworking was too easy and decided to make paper instead. Maybe I should be leaving my projects in damp cardboard boxes too...
Freehand cutting on a table saw is unsafe. Please don't hurt yourself. Better to use the fence or a sled or miter gauge. Something to reference your cuts so they can't twist partway.
Who need AI machinery when this fella has super natural stable hands. Glueing those two thin panels on top off each other sliding them to fit and scraping the excess glue with one hand holding the two on the other, that took the wind out off my sails ⛵
Wonderful work! I didn't understand the part at the end however, where the wood is placed in a water soaked cardboard box with a wet towel on top. What was the reason for that.
The individual pieces are glued criss-crossed with the grain at different orientations. This causes stresses in the finished piece that translate to crumpling and warping in the thin-shaved sheets. The wood is gently moistened in the box first so that this warping can be flattened out as it dries.
As someone else said, fingers near table saw was scary. I have a half-brother who ran a furniture business missing multiple fingers because of multiple accidents.
You know it would be helpful for you to use subtitles in English for describing the wood types and veneers you use and what size cuts you make, also please use a push stick instead of both of your hands on the table saw!
Hey, me, do you want to see a profession that will give you nightmares about being off by a micrometer, oh and that's saw bite is calculated in the 10s of percent's? Well, here you go!
It's so sad to see comments made by people and young children with low IQs. Do you think that triangles, squares, and star-shaped hieroglyphs were invented by just one person?
@@Zack-xz1ph Manji and Hakenkreuz have the same shape but are clearly different and the history of Manji is far older. Even in Asian countries, WW2 and Hakenkreuz are well known and studied, and it is taboo to intentionally use Hakenkreuz. However, in Asian countries, a Manji used as a pattern is either a meaningless hieroglyphic pattern or a symbol with the meaning of a shrine or temple. It is nothing else, and I wouldn't go out of my way to write Hakenkreuz meaning Nazi in such a place. If terrorists in the Asian world use a simple square symbol in the future and do something like the Holocaust, will Western societies stop writing squares in the future for the rest of their lives? Will any square drawn in the past at all be regarded as a symbol of evil and condemned? I don't understand Xenophobia at all!

When I begin watching these videos I have no idea what the final results will be. I am never disappointed.
All my respect to a tru craftsman.

Bel lavoro, certosino e di pazienza. Se prevedesse anche la traduzione in inglese sarebbe un video perfetto.
Beautiful workmanship.
Absolutely mind-blowing!! I thoroughly enjoyed that, wish that I could have something that incorporated Yosegi. Perhaps one day if I have the money!

this is just another level magnificent.
Holy smokes! The dedication to repetitive and small piecemealing is craftsmanship and proves quality over quantity is an art.
Any chance to get the measurements of the material and the size of the various pieces? This is lovely work, excellent in everyway!

Wonderful work! I didn't understand the part at the end however, where the wood is placed in a water soaked cardboard box with a wet towel on top. What was the reason for that.
This is to keep the moisture inside the cardboard.
The individual pieces are glued criss-crossed with the grain at different orientations. This causes stresses in the finished piece that translate to crumpling and warping in the thin-shaved sheets. The wood is gently moistened in the box first so that this warping can be flattened out as it dries.
Having the wood being damp helps the surfacer machine make the cuts easier in the same way that barbers wet your hair to make it easier to cut.
